Synopsis_

“Bucharest, memory lost” is a documentary about memory. It narrates the personal quest of Albert (a journalist born in exile in 1962) who want to rediscover his roots, framed by a double exile. His father, the Spanish politician Jordi Solé Tura, one of the ‘Fathers’ of the Spanish Constitution, lived in exile because of his anti-Franco militancy towards the end of the 1950s. Now, Jordi has begun a new internal exile, this time without the possibility of returning: he is fight against Alzheimer’s. His memory is fading more and more each day. This documentary tries to retrieve the memories of these peculiar lives, in which historical figures such as Santiago Carrillo, Jorge Semprún, Manuel Fraga or Jordi Pujol appear, along with lesser known stories about the fight against the Franco regime and the Cold War. For Albert, many of these experiences are vague childhood memories. He travels from one exile to another trying to piece together his family’s memory, his own memory.
